centers

I use learning centers in my classroom everyday. Each week the students have five different centers (one per day) to go to for approximately 20 minutes. I use this time to work with students one-on-one for reading. Each week the students will have math, phonics, writer's workshop, and handwriting centers. The other center changes according to our thematic area of study for that week. I love centers because it teaches students to be patient, problem solve, work independently or collaborate with a partner, and builds confidence!
