Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators I am continually looking for additional techniques to incorporate into my classroom. The Orton-Gillingham approach caught my attention because it is not only for students with dyslexia, but for all students who need additional help with reading and writing. Since this is at the heart of all subjects (yes, even math), students need to have a strong foundation in this subject area. With OG, the student learns how to dissect words in a multi-sensory approach. This method can be used with any age group to help build skills and confidence. |
