| I have the
best job in the world! I always wanted to be a teacher and fortunately,
I have been blessed with many wonderful years in the classroom.
My Bachelor of Science
degree in Early Childhood Education was earned from Brenau
University and
I have a Master of
Education degree in Curriculum and Technology Integration with state
certification in Georgia. I also have been trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach. I have taught Pre-K, Kindergarten,
2nd grade, and 3rd grade, and I tutor K through 6th
grades
after school. I am a member of several professional organizations:
NAEYC (National Association for the
Education of Young Children), National Kindergarten Alliance, International Reading Association, The George
Lucas Educational
Foundation, and the Southern Early Childhood Association. My wonderful husband Joe and I have been married for 14 years. We have two beautiful children; a daughter, age 13 and a son, age 9. I also have three sweet Spaniels - 2 Cockers and 1 Brittany and a beautiful hunter/jumper Quarterhorse named Dino that we board at a local stable. We just love our fury kids! Currently, I am writing my second children's book with my daughter. She is an amazing artist/illustrator. I self-published a children's dessert cookbook in 2006. All proceeds were donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. My other activities/hobbies include spending time with my family & friends, traveling, horseback riding, golfing, snow skiing, gardening, working on my Website, and watching my son play travel baseball! |
